Captured Yakumos

Some of you may know (or not) that I'm sort of a fan of Touhou, a series of doujin shmups. Well... the characters and the stories, anyway. I'm actually not that big into the games themselves, even though they are pretty good shmups. But, I dunno... I find the characters a lot more fascinating, I guess that's just how it is.

I have quite a few favorite ladies in the series. I'm particularly fond of Youmu Konpaku the most, because swords + women = badass. And of course, one of my other close favorites is Ran Yakumo... who I couldn't resist doing a picture of. Then I thought it might be fun to add Yukari, her master, to the picture, and things took off from there:

I'm rather pleased with it. Ran turned out very cute here, and I'd love to draw her again someday. Although my Yukari needs work, and I still haven't mastered frills because I'm out of practice with them... and unfortunately, there's quite a few Touhou girls out there with frills on their outfits.

I hope to get around to drawing other Touhou girls in due time. A number of them look fun to draw.

A little more of Matsykins

While not exactly new, I may as well post this pic of Matsuri for posterity:

I think she looks pretty good in turtlenecks. Especially in this sweater variant. I'd like to draw her wearing it some more. Though I suppose I would like to draw her in a few other outfits as well in the future, if time permits.

Matsy also has a yellow turtleneck which isn't quite as bulky as this one and she wears it with the tail tucked into her pants, which she looks pretty cute in, but I like this one more.

Fresh Restart

I had closed my first blog on Blogspot because it was becoming a pain in the butt to keep working, but since I've closed my accounts and left DeviantArt (for a number of reasons) and don't intend to open another one there, I may as well try putting my stuff up here. Could have used my other alias, but I decided to stick with the non-creepy one.

Here's the latest artwork I've managed to complete, breaking a 2-3 month hiatus:

Basically my 'adopted mascot' (since I don't really count her as my creation; she was created by an old friend, so that credit goes to them), Matsuri Aiyo, in her superheroine alias of Gust Crusader, captured and unmasked. Done for Karyu's birthday. He requested her without the helmet.

Struggling helplessly, trying to work free so she can get that helmet back on and save the day again.
